Young SolBridge Business Scholar Competition   

Write a research paper on a topic of the major field that you’re interested in. 

• Awards will be granted to selected top students.

• #1 student from each of the 5 major fields will be named as the “Young SolBridge Business Scholar of the Year.”

• The five #1 students will obtain an opportunity to attend one prestigious international conference if the students continue to develop their papers. 

Qualification: SolBridge Full-time BBA students

• This is an INDIVIDUAL (not a group) competition 

5 Majors & Topics Major Topic

1. Economics ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and its implications for South Korea

2. Finance & Accounting How Korean merged and mega-sized banks restructure their international competitiveness

3. International Business Globalization and multinationals approach to market segmentation

4. Management & SCM Climate policies and solutions for green supply chains

5. Marketing The impact of E-commerce on a small business in South Korea 

How to participate?

• Choose one major and submit an application (http://goo.gl/forms/Bz2LRJSGWI) by October 12 and then submit your paper by November 11.

Selection Process

• Top 4 contestants in each major (20 students in total) will be announced on November 19. – Out of 20 students, top 10 students will be invited to the presentations

• Right after presentations on December 1, the number 1 student from each major field will be determined. – The five number 1 students will be announced as the Young SolBridge Business Scholar of the Year  Important Dates

• Submission deadline for Application – October 16, 2015

• Paper Submission deadline – November 11, 2015

• Announcement of Top 4 – November 19, 2015

• Presentations of Top 2 – December 1, 2015 

Prizes

• We will award the top 4 students in each major field (20 students in total) up to 1 million KRW 

Author guidelines:

• Topic: Choose one from the five topics above.

• Length: Up to 20 pages excluding the title page and back pages (References and Appendix).

• References and supplementary information: The authors should include at least 10 good references as well as at least 4 tables and 4 figures to reinforce their arguments. Good references mean that academic journals, major newspapers or magazines, or sources from government agencies and companies’ press releases. Please try to avoid citing sources like blogs and personal websites.

• Format: Use Times New Roman 12-point type, double-spaced, and A4 page setting with margins of 2.54 cm or one inch. Follow the APA style for other format (For your information, look into this website – https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/560/01)

• Contents organization: The suggested basic format for your paper is as following: 1. Introduction, 2. Literature review (and hypotheses development), 3. Results or Findings, 4. Implications or Discussion, 5. Conclusion, 6. References, 7. Appendix. However, you do not have to strictly follow this structure. 
