We are accepting the application for the Self-Innovation Scholarship.
Since it is not based on GRADE, Scholarship is open to any students who just overcame their own difficulties.
What is the Self-Innovation Scholarship?
The Self-Innovation Scholarship is an award given to SolBridge Regular BBA students who have shown
significant self-development overcoming their own difficulties in the spring 2015 and summer of 2015.
For example, if you were failing all your courses in the fall 2014 but after studying really hard received
a 3.00 GPA in the spring 2015, then you made a significant development in yourself. If you had trouble
staying focused in class (i.e. sleeping all the time or not paying attention) during the fall 2014 but
changed your habits and turned into an exemplary student (i.e. taking notes, participating in class,
etc.) in the spring 2015, then you made a significant development in yourself. If you were really shy
and had trouble making presentations in class back in the fall of 2014 and were able to overcome
your inhibitions in the spring 2015, then you made a significant development in yourself.
What is the scholarship amount?
The scholarship will be in cash and the amount will range from W 500,000 to W 1,000,000.
How many students will be selected?
Around 22 SolBridge Regular BBA students will be selected.
What would be the evaluation criteria?
Three judges will review all the application materials and select the best 22 applications based on the
establishment of the goals, student’s efforts in overcoming the difficulties, changes made in one’s life
or study habits, how specific the goals were, etc. A PPT presentation will precede all final decisions.
What are the required documents?
In order to be considered for the Self-Innovation Scholarship, applicants must submit all the required
documents by the deadline.
1. A Self-Innovation Essay in MS Word:
a) Must be less than 5 pages long.
b) The font size should be 11.
c) The line spacing should be double-space (아래한글일 경우 160%).
d) Must include a Cover Page. The Cover Page counts as one page of your total essay. Your
Cover Page should include the title of the scholarship, your full name in English and
Korean, and your student ID number.
e) Your essay should develop your personal story of self-development; what was the
lesson? How did SolBridge help you overcome the difficulties?
f) It is highly recommended to include some evidence, for example, your academic
transcripts, class notes, pictures, etc.
2. A PPT Presentation File: If you are selected as one of the candidates, you will have to give a Power
Point presentation of your essay and story. Submit your PPT file along with your essay.
3. A Copy of Your Bank Book
4. A Copy of Your National Registration Card (for Korean students) or Alien Registration Card (for International students)
